I loved this image at first glance. The delicate tendrils of blackish gas clouds, blue reflection nebulae, reddish emission nebulae, the globular cluster M4 (lower center right) amidst a backdrop of thousands of ordinary stars like our own sun. Bright red to the naked eye Antares, one of the brightest stars in the sky (just to the left of M4) is only 550 light years away. Posted with Mr. O'Donoghue's permission.
