MoveOn.org protest on Mercer Island, Wa. 8/10/11

I was fortunate to attend a protest in front of Rep. Reichert's (R-WA) office on Mercer Island, Wa. today.  It was great to stand in a crowd of like minded progressive activists.  We received a great response from the many passing vehicles.  Almost everyone waved and many honked their support.

It was a beautiful day, warm and sunny.  I overheard one person saying they had counted 43 people at the event.  Where are the jobs?  Jobs not cuts, were the two most popular signs.  Next Thursday, 10AM another protest is planned for the same location.

  1. It was great to meet you at this event. I've really enjoyed your blog and hope to see you at the August 18th action. We are going to keep telling our stories until Reichert starts listening.

  2. Thank you Nathan, I had a wonderful time at the event. I was the last one there and a man approached me and wondered if I needed a job. Lots of young adults who grew up with my kids, need jobs, need good jobs. Many of them are living with their parents. I'm not sure Reichert will ever listen to us, but lets keep making noise. Thanks much for your very kind words about my blog.
