Global Zero is working to reduce the world supply of nuclear weapons to zero. During the height of the cold war there were 60,000 nuclear weapons, good work by successive global leaders have reduced the count to 23,000. Globally various nations spend a trillion dollars every 10 years on nuclear weapons the US spends 60 billion a year on nuclear weapons.
Global Zero has a petition:
"WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, believe that to protect our children, our grandchildren and our civilization from the threat of nuclear catastrophe, we must eliminate all nuclear weapons globally. We therefore commit to working for a legally binding verifiable agreement, including all nations, to eliminate nuclear weapons by a date certain."You can sign the petition here
