A couple of days ago the sun erupted with a medium size solar flare and accompanying CME (coronal mass ejection) The flare also displaced a large filament, the long stringing thing shooting up, which slowly rained backed down on the sun (coronal rain). I've never seen such a display of coronal rain. Impressive and beautiful. Please note, this is completely normal for the sun to have these eruptions.
