This weekend, my wife and I made three apple pies. Two pies for a lovely birthday dinner party and one pie for my wife's work, a thanksgiving potluck. My son kept asking, can we eat this pie? I had to keep telling him: "nope, sorry". So tonight I made this one for him. The pie, used two Jonagold, one golden delicious and 3 granny smith apples. Apple selection was based on a judicious selection of available apples on hand instead of a recipe. You can make a great pie, with any apples.
