Happy Friday

M106 and its four spiral arms are brilliantly displayed in this meticulously assembled composite image.  In the center of M106 lies an actively feeding black hole which is revealed by energetic microwave emissions.   M106 is only 20 million light years away, almost next door in the constellation Canes Venatici (just below the Big Dipper).
