Rick Santorum

Rick Santorum who has been holding steady in the rear of the republican presidential pack has recently shown new life and risen in the polls.
Public Policy Polling

All the republican candidates, with the exception of Michelle Bachmann, have seen their moment leading the parade of presidential hopefuls.  The lead has changed 7 times so far and now its Santorum's turn.  His poll numbers are rising quickly, his message of "against" ringing true with evangelicals in Iowa.
According to CBS news, at a campaign stop in Sioux City, Iowa on Sunday, Rick Santorum was asked this question:
"how do we get off this crazy train? We've got so much foreign influence in this country now," adding "where do we go from here?"
Rick Santorum replied:
"It just keeps expanding - I was in Indianola a few months ago and I was talking to someone who works in the department of public welfare here, and she told me that the state of Iowa is going to get fined if they don't sign up more people under the Medicaid program," Santorum said. "They're just pushing harder and harder to get more and more of you dependent upon them so they can get your vote. That's what the bottom line is."
He added: "I don't want to make black people's lives better by giving them somebody else's money; I want to give them the opportunity to go out and earn the money."
Where did that come from?  Only 9% of the people in Iowa receiving food stamps are black.   The government is pushing people to receive aid so they will vote democratic?  What kind of logic is that?  People stand in line to receive aid, because they are unemployed, have no job, or a low paying job.  American citizens receiving aid could care less about political parties.  Working for minimum wage or being unemployed is the hardest job anyone can ever have and there is precious little time for niceties such as politics in those situations.
Rick Santorum also has a problem with diversity.
"If we celebrate diversity, we lay the groundwork for that conflict. We need to celebrate common values and have a president that lays out those common values."
It's not surprising that someone who is so adamantly opposed to gays and gay marriage has a problem with diversity.  Rick Santorum is comfortable with "common values" and he wants to set those values as president. Wonder what kind of "common values" Rick Santorum would set for the nation as president?

Rick Santorum is not in favor of contraceptives, Planned Parenthood, abortion, women working, gays, and gay marriages.  He is in favor of war with Iran, and having the government legislate Americans bedroom activities.  Rick Santorum is ready to lead America into a war with Iran, Women's rights and "the gay" while celebrating his "common values".
