Day Old Garlic Bread

Leftover "daily bread" provides excellent opportunity for experimentation.  For this treat, we slit a half-a-loaf in half, spread it with one clove of garlic* head of garlic, crushed and a softened cube of butter, then we lightly sprinkled Monterey Jack cheese and a little Johnny's seasoning salt.  Was marvelous with pasta. 

*My friend Jay informed me, that wasn't nearly enough garlic! Thanks Jay! I'm grateful for pointing out my  mistype. We did use a whole head of garlic, seriously, one clove?  Why bother?
