"GOP, Stop Being The Stupid Party"

In remarks to Politico, Governor Bobby Jindal urged his party "to stop being the stupid party".
“It is no secret we had a number of Republicans damage our brand this year with offensive, bizarre comments — enough of that,” Jindal said. “It’s not going to be the last time anyone says something stupid within our party, but it can’t be tolerated within our party. We’ve also had enough of this dumbed-down conservatism. We need to stop being simplistic, we need to trust the intelligence of the American people and we need to stop insulting the intelligence of the voters.”
Yes, Governor Jindal stop being "the stupid party".  Governor were you aware 78 Nobel laureates have asked you and the Louisiana State Legislature to repeal the Louisiana Science Education Act which allows creationism to be taught in Louisiana public schools.  Governor Jindal, you signed the bill that brought religion into Louisiana classrooms, the bill that allows fundamentalists who believe the Earth is 7000 years old to pollute young minds in America's public schools.  Governor Jindal, you also called on the GOP to be  “the party of ... intelligent solutions,” is this code for just relabeling your party as creationism was re-labelled "intelligent design"?

Governor Jindal claims that the GOP should "trust the intelligence of the American People" but of course, that doesn't mean he trusts, or the GOP should trust any decisions American women make about their bodies.  Governor Jindal also recently signed a bill increasing the "waiting period" between a mandatory ultrasound and an abortion.  Apparently, Bobby Jindal believes women are slow to thought and need additional time (mandatory waiting period) and information (mandatory ultrasound) for contemplating decisions.

"we need to stop insulting the intelligence of the voters.”

The only thing the GOP learned in the election of 2012 was to not talk about republican policies because when they do, they sound "stupid".  An intelligent political party would actually change its policies instead of how they speak about those policies, but that's not the republican party.
