In 1999 human population reached 6 billion. Now sometime in October humans are expected to reach the 7 billion mark. The Center for Biological Diversity is launching a nationwide campaign to highlight the explosive human population growth and its devastating effect on wildlife across the globe. Human population growth is currently endangering:
• 12 percent of mammals
• 12 percent of birds
• 31 percent of reptiles
• 30 percent of amphibians
• 37 percent of fish
• 12 percent of birds
• 31 percent of reptiles
• 30 percent of amphibians
• 37 percent of fish
