This is what drought conditions looked like in Texas in mid April of 2011.

Many communities were suffering so prophet Governor Rick Perry announced a prayer proclamation to bring rain to the state.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, RICK PERRY, Governor of Texas, under the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of the State of Texas, do hereby proclaim the three-day period from Friday, April 22, 2011, to Sunday, April 24, 2011, as Days of Prayer for Rain in the State of Texas. I urge Texans of all faiths and traditions to offer prayers on that day for the healing of our land, the rebuilding of our communities and the restoration of our normal and robust way of life.
In addition, to the prayer proclamation, Governor Rick Perry held a Prayer Rally called the Response, on August 6, 2011 in Houston attended by 30,000 devout christians.   Rick Perry called on his invisible deity to solve the nations problems.  Before turning all our problems over to this unproven deity lets see how he/she or it responded to the drought conditions in Texas.

The dark brown is the most severe condition that is monitored.  At the time of Governor Rick Perry's Prayer Proclamation in April, 10% of  the state was suffering from severe drought conditions.  As of Sept 13, 2011 88% of the state is suffering from severe drought conditions.  The evidence is clear, either prayers have no effect or invisible deities hate Governor Rick Perry.   In any case, Rick Perry has been counter productive in his drought reduction efforts and we should all strongly encourage Governor Rick Perry to stop praying for the nation.
